Never has land met sea in a more dramatic fashion than at Maine Acadia National Park and every time I visit this iconic National Park in the northeast of the United States of America, I am drawn to Monument Cove. Monument Cove is easily accessible from Ocean Drive along Park Loop Road. There is a steep climb down for closer looks and the pebbles make for great compositions and foreground features. The beautiful cove and spot is named for its vertical sea
stack of granite rock isolated from the cliff by coastal erosion. It is
one of the most iconic scenes in Acadia National Park. Otter Cliff,
another popular spot in Acadia, can be seen in the distance.
