Cape Cod is one of the most popular summer destination in New England. We visit multiple times depending on accommodation availability and weather forecast. One of my favorite summer activity on Cape Cod is to get up before sunrise and make my way over to one of the many beautiful Cape Cod beaches. Nauset Beach is one of the best and stretches for miles along the National Seashore. This morning I was rewarded with a majestic sunrise across Atlantic Ocean. The early morning sunlight painted the sky in stunning orange hues while the sun beam beautifully reflected in the ocean waters and the beach. I encountered footsteps on the beach that I incorporated into my composition to lead the viewer into the frame towards the ocean and sunrise.
Aperture setting was f/16 providing a fast shutter speed of 1/15 of a second at ISO100 to freeze the waters. During post processing I followed my routine workflow of cleaning up the image from unwanted dust spots, adjusting light, contrast and color saturation before sharpening the final image of "Towards the Sun".
