Behind the Image: Boston By Night

I recently went back to one of my favorite photo locations in Boston. Opposite of downtown and the financial district is East Boston. East Boston has multiple sites where one can truly appreciate the great Boston Skyline Views and admire the boats crossing the Boston harbor. Another reason I love this photo spot so much are the many wood pilings and piers that are still present besides their bad conditions. Using them in a composition to lead the viewer into and through the picture is very effective. In this latest night photography image I used them to lead towards the cityscape and historic architecture of the Custom House of Boston. Clear blue sky made for a picture perfect photography night out.

Aperture in this image was f/14 with an exposure time of 20 seconds at ISO100. During my routine image processing steps in Photoshop I removed dust spots, adjusted lighting, contrast and color saturation before sharpening the final  Boston By Night photography image.

Good light and happy photo making!
