Boston Skyline at Dusk

I regularly make my way over to the Cambridge side of the Charles River to photograph the Boston skyline at twilight. The other day I set up near one of the boat houses at my favorite location on Memorial Drive. I like this spot because it provides a good view of Boston landmarks such as the Prudential Center and the John Hancock building. The Massachusetts Avenue Bridge spans from MIT over to Boston and leads the viewer into the city.

This day I went straight to work and kept on photographing the City Skyline of Boston while the sun was setting and disappearing. I was intrigued by the soft hues of dusk over Boston and how it reflected in the Charles River. The wide angle lens gave me the compositional tool to capture this moment in time. At ISO 100, the aperture was set to f/16 resulting in a 1.3 second exposure time. In the post processing steps I removed dust spots, minimally adjusted lighting and color saturation before sharpening the final Boston skyline photography image Dusk at the Charles.
