New England winter photography at Lake Cochituate |
Last autumn I photographed the New England Fall Foliage at Lake Cochituate in Wayland, Massachusetts. I found this beautiful bolder on the edge of the lake and went back last week the explore this spot in winter. I arrived just in time for sunrise and to my delight Mother Earth perfectly arranged a couple of fallen leaves in front and to the right of the rock. Nature keeps blowing my mind with these things! I set up on the ice and composed the image around the rock and the two autumn leaves. A split neutral density filter managed to overcome the contrast between dark foreground and bright morning sky. An aperture of f/11 provided sufficient depth of field for this Landscape Photography image. Shutter speed resulted in 3 seconds at ISO100. During routine post processing I removed dust spots and image imperfection, adjusted lighting, contrast and color saturation before sharpening the final image of New England Winter.
Good light and happy photo making!
