Storrow Drive in Boston is well known for its congested
traffic during the morning and evening rush hour. The other day I went out to
use the traffic as a computational feature. During long exposure photography head and
rear lights of cars turn into beautiful streams of white and red. Effectively
used, these light streaks lead the viewer into and through the picture to the
main subject. In both Boston Photography Images the main focus is on the
Charles River skyline while the sea of red and white guides towards the Boston
skyline.
Camera settings were similar f/18, 20 to 25 seconds at ISO200.
During routine post processing steps I removed dust spots, minimally adjusted
lighting, contrast and color saturation before sharpening the final photos of
Storrow Drive traffic with the Boston Back Bay skyline.
Good light and happy photo making!
