Lake Waban is an idyllic small lake on the border of Natick and Wellesley. Parking is limited and keeps the crowds in check. It is popular with runners, walkers and dog walking. The other week when the fall foliage was winding down I went to the lake for sunset photography. The partly cloudy sky looked promising and I envisioned a sky being on fire. After photographing Wellesley College covered in autumn hues and reflected in Lake Waban I made my way over to the sunset spot I had in mind. This sunset turned out to be a stunner. As I imagined the orange and red clouds exploded around the time the sun sunk behind the horizon. I followed my routine digital post-processing steps but had to scale back color saturation a little bit since the sky colors were so intense.
Good light and happy photo making!
