Story & Technique Behind the Image: Ship Harbor Sunset View in Maine Acadia National Park

Maine Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island is worth a trip for the outdoor adventurer and photographer alike at any time of the year. I went to visit the park in spring and was rewarded with beautiful lighting and less traveled roads throughout Acadia and surrounding towns. I photographed this classic seacoast photography sunset view of the Maine rocky shoreline at Ship Harbor in Acadia NP. The rocky granite seascape with its evergreens lead the viewer into the photograph and towards the beautiful pink sky formation. A long exposure time provided the incoming tidal waves to rendering into silky water effects conveying some sort of Atlantic Ocean movement.

Aperture in this coastal photography image was set to f/22 providing a 10 second shutter speed at ISO100. During my routine digital post processing work flow I removed dust spots, adjusted lighting, contrast and color saturation before sharpening the final seacoast picture "Ship Harbor Sunset View in Maine Acadia National Park".

Good light and happy photo making!
