Florida Photography of Coral Cove Park Sunset in Tequesta

On my last travel photography tour to Florida I had a chance to stop at Coral Cove Park in Tequesta, FL. This natural gem is located on Jupiter Island and not far from the historic Jupiter Lighthouse. The beach is also one of the most northern ones in Palm Beach County and a definitely must see of The Palm Beaches.

I originally planned to shoot here at sunrise but then the schedule only allowed to stop here at sunset. Boy was it worth it. The reefs by itself provide plenty of Photography Inspiration and make for a great foreground element in a composition. The evening I stopped by turned into a real burner and light and color was phenomenal.

I worked the scenery with my Canon Mark IV, a 16-35 mm wide-angle lens and a Gitzo tripod. During post processing I combined three exposures, adjusted brightness, contrast, vibrancy and color saturation before removing dust spots and sharpening the final Florida Images.

Battleship Cove in Fall River Massachusetts

New England photograophy of Battleship Cove in Fall River Massachusetts
Battleship Cove in Fall River, Massachusetts - Juergen Roth

Last week my travel New England Photography lead me to Fall River, MA. Battleship Cove was on my photo bucket list for quite some time and I am glad I finally was able to get down there for sunrise. Sunset is also a good time photographing these World War II naval vessels below the Braga Bridge. Upon arrival I explored my options while looking for a decent foreground element that I could incorporate into my composition. Not long into my quest I came across these mooring poles perfectly lined up beautifully. Equipped with a Gitzo tripod, a Canon Mark IV and 28-70mm zoom lens I got to work in the freezing morning hours. I like working with this lens as it provides a lot of freedom when composing a shot. Set at 50mm, I selected an f/14 aperture  with an ISO100 setting. The resulting long-exposure time was 25 section which provided a smooth waterscape while boats, bridge and the wooden poles remained in sharp focus.

During post-processing I adjusted brightness, contrast, vibrancy and color saturation before removing dust spots and sharpening the final image of Battleship Cove.

Good light and happy photo making!
